I assisted artist Heidi Nibistt (of Sketching Summits) in painting a landscape mural of the Greyson Highlands. The commission was for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy in Damascus, Virginia.

Not only was this my first time painting a mural, it occurred about 500 miles into my own Appalachian thru hike!

It was a great way to spend a week off trail… Ask me how this serendipitous meetup happened!
